The MXR reflects Mizuno's desire to revive the retro running experience of the 2000s, in the vein of the famous Wave Rider 10. Its name comes from the Maximizer line, a series of running shoes long available on the domestic market, designed to make Mizuno quality accessible to a wider audience.
The collaboration between AFEW and Mizuno for the MXR "OAG3" introduced several unique design elements: a custom toe panel, a custom tongue, an additional quick-lace system, a Runbird logo on the heel, a custom logo on the midsole, a themed pattern on the insole, and an asymmetrical Runbird logo on the medial and lateral sides.
