PUMA x STAPLE - SLIPSTREAM GIDRA

Noble New Yorker and proud Asian American, Jeff Staple puts on the Asian civil rights at the forefront with the new PUMA x STAPLE "Gidra" collection. Featuring both footwear and apparel, the collection is inspired by Gidra, an Asian-American student newspaper launched in response to the anti-Asian uproar of 1969.

Founded in California, Gidra operated from 1969 to 1974 and was a powerful voice for Asian American civil rights movements. Pieces in the collection honor Asian-American history as Staple combines bold colors with thoughtful graphics that incorporate dragons inspired by King Ghidorah and Chinese characters that translate to "Peace."

Offered in black and yellow colourways, STAPLE selects the PUMA Slipstream as their silhouette of choice. Each iteration has seamless colorblocking, snakeskin leather on the upper and vamp, and a glossy finish on the Formstrip. The rear heels have both the iconic Puma and Pigeon logos, combined with a tonal Gidra graphic on the leather tongue label.

The PUMA x STAPLE "Gidra" collection is available right now.
