BARBOUR x NORBIT

Some collaborations bring two worlds together. And then there are those that find common ground. For Autumn/Winter 2026, Barbour x norbit brings together Barbour’s British outdoor heritage and the functional vision of Japanese designer Hiroshi Nozawa, founder of norbit. A collaboration centred on a shared vision of clothing: garments must be designed to be worn, used and to live alongside their owner. A meeting born in Paris The story of this collaboration began in January 2024, when Barbour’s British team visited norbit’s Paris showroom.

Hiroshi Nozawa explains that he was initially unaware he was dealing with the Barbour team. After discovering his work and his approach to clothing, representatives from the British brand returned the following day and proposed a collaboration with the Barbour Heritage line for the 26AW season. For Nozawa, Barbour holds a special place: a brand born out of the practical worlds of hunting and fishing, with certain pieces having been passed down through the generations. The aim of this collection was therefore not so much to transform this heritage as to develop it in line with norbit’s design codes: functionality, modularity, technical details and freedom of movement. The FW26 collection is built around this tension between two clothing cultures. On the one hand, Barbour and its British heritage: tartans, corduroy, wool, country-style silhouettes and details drawn from outdoor wear. On the other, norbit and Hiroshi Nozawa’s approach: garments designed with functionality, modularity and practical details in mind, which can alter the way a piece is worn. Barbour itself describes the collaboration as a meeting of Japanese precision and British heritage. Traditional materials are reworked with a more contemporary and functional approach.
