Handcrafted shoes, the fruit of over 200 years of experience. The Astorflex shoe factory was founded in 1820 in Castel d'Ario, a small town in Mantua, Italy, where it is still located and owned by the same family. In its early days, the factory produced handcrafted shoes and wooden sandals. After the First World War, with the advent of industrialization, the small company "Fratelli Travenzoli" diversified into shoe production using the traditional method (external stitching along the sole), a method we still use today as the basis for most of our models, combined with Goodyear welt construction. The current CEO and owner, Fabio Travenzoli, began working at the factory in 1984 and now represents the sixth generation of the family to lead the company. His son, Giulio Travenzoli, also works there, thus perpetuating the family tradition of seven generations.
