Founded by William Peter Dehen in 1920, Dehen Knitting Company produces classic and traditional clothing in the United States. True to its humble but pioneering beginnings in Portland, Oregon, Dehen is a family-owned business known for its durable quality, workmanship and rugged style. In the 1920s, Dehen began knitting varsity and collegiate sweaters for athletes. In the 1930s, they began supplying local motorcycle clubs with sweaters designed for riding. In the 1950s, they added the Varsity Jacket to their repertoire, which was handcrafted to the specifications of each person lucky enough to be counted in their sport's history. Today, after entering their eleventh decade, Dehen still perpetuates manufacturing quality worthy of the name while continuing to manufacture its products in Portland. Quality is common to every garment made by Dehen.
