The various special editions created in recent years with our cooperation partners around the world prove this in particular. One of the reasons for the popularity of the COIL R1 is certainly its shape. The wedge-shaped forefoot area is razor sharp and an absolute feast for the eyes. The second reason for its popularity is certainly the multi-layer construction of the upper, which offers great design options in terms of color and material.
In this COIL R1 OG, several panels of soft suede of different sizes have been placed on a mesh base. A third material comes into play at the heel tab. There we used a nice 3M reflective material. Its color coordinates with the interior lining. In the heel area, just above the midsole, there is a stabilizer that surrounds the entire heel. This technology was designed to give the foot perfect lateral stability, which was essential for a running silhouette like this in the 1980s.
