The Classic Pareau, also known as the Pua Lani Pareau, was inspired by a trip to Tahiti in the early-1950s. Alfred Shaheen brought back Tahitian floral motifs, adapted them to textiles, and created one of Hawai'i's most enduring prints. The Classic Pareau is one of the oldest and most recognized designs that epitomizes the Hawaiian mystique.
